He stayed with them and worked, for they were tentmakers by trade. And he reasoned in the synagogue every Sabbath, and tried to persuade Jews and Greeks.

In Corinth, Paul found not just a place to work but people to work with, Aquila and Priscilla, a couple who shared his trade and his faith. Their workshop became both a livelihood and a launching ground for ministry. Paul’s tentmaking connected him with fellow believers who would later become some of his most trusted co-labourers in the gospel. Their shared profession became the platform for a shared mission.
The marketplace remains one of the primary arenas where God weaves such purposeful relationships. The colleagues we collaborate with, the clients we serve, and even the competitors we encounter can become instruments of God’s kingdom. Like Paul, Aquila, and Priscilla, we are called not merely to make a living but to transform the relationships born of work into partnerships that advance God’s kingdom.

Lord, thank You for the people You have placed alongside me in my work. Help me to see partnerships not as coincidences but as divine appointments. Teach me to build relationships that reflect Your love and serve Your purpose in the world. Amen.
