Now I would remind you, brothers, of the gospel I preached to you, which you received, in which you stand.

Paul reminds the Corinthians that their identity, security, and hope are rooted in the message of Christ crucified and risen. To be a gospel-driven church means that every ministry, decision, and gathering must point us back to this firm foundation. Programs may change, methods may adapt, but our footing must remain steady on the good news of Jesus.
When a church builds its life on other foundations—social causes, human personalities, or cultural relevance—it risks becoming unstable. Only the gospel provides unshakable ground. A gospel-driven church continually asks: Does this help us stand more firmly in Christ? Does it draw us deeper into the grace we first received? The gospel is not just the first step; it is the enduring ground on which the church must stand.
Prayer
Lord, keep our church standing firmly on the gospel of Christ. Guard us from being distracted by lesser foundations, and let us be rooted in your saving grace. Amen.
