How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching?

How will anyone hear the name of Jesus unless someone tells them? The chain of salvation depends on proclamation. God, in His sovereign wisdom, has ordained that faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of Christ (v. 17). This means the message must be spoken. The gospel is not discovered by human reason or imagination; it must be announced. Those who have heard and believed bear the responsibility of passing it on. The saving message that reached our hearts is now entrusted to our lips.
Evangelism is not an optional ministry for a select few. It is the natural outflow of salvation itself. We were reached so that others might be reached through us. Yet even as we speak, we remember that it is the Holy Spirit who opens ears and softens hearts. Our task is obedience; the results belong to God. Through our witness, those who have not heard may finally hear, believe, and call on the name that saves.
Prayer
Lord, make me Your messenger. Give me love for those who have not yet heard, and courage to speak Your word faithfully. May my voice be an instrument through which others come to hear of You and believe. Amen.

Who in my circle of life might never “hear” of Christ unless I speak? What might obedience look like for me this week?
