For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.
– Romans 8:14
This is why the Spirit’s leading, however quiet or subtle, is so vital for assurance. You may not feel worthy. You may still struggle. But the fact that you are being led—drawn away from sin, stirred to worship, awakened to God’s Word—is a living sign that you belong to the Father. The Spirit does not lead strangers. He leads sons and daughters of God. And He leads them not as slaves under fear, but as beloved children who are being formed in the likeness of Christ. So the next time you sense the Spirit tugging at your heart, receive it as reassurance: the Spirit is leading you, and that means you are a child of God.

Meditation
When was the last time I sensed the Spirit’s leading and how can I learn to recognize those moments as assurances that I am a child of God?
