And raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.

– Ephesians 2:6-7

When Paul says we have been raised up and seated with Christ in the heavenly realms, he’s describing something far more than a future hope. This is a present reality. Spiritually speaking, we’ve already been given a new status and position. To be seated with Christ means that we now share in His victory, His authority, and His access to the Father. Once, we were under the dominion of sin, death, and Satan. But now, because we are in Christ, we are no longer under the rule of the enemy. We’ve been transferred into a new realm, one where grace, freedom, and spiritual power define our lives.

This changes how we live every day. It means we don’t have to be enslaved to old habits or defeated by fear. The powers that once ruled over us no longer have the final say. We fight from victory, not for it. Temptation, spiritual warfare, emotional oppression are real, but they’re not ultimate. Christ is seated in victory, and we are seated with Him. So we can walk in confidence, pray with boldness, and serve with joy. And as we do, God is already pouring out the riches of His grace toward us—not just when the Lord returns, but now, in countless acts of kindness we often overlook. This is grace in action, every single day.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, thank You that I’ve been raised and seated with You. Help me remember that I no longer live under the power of sin or fear. Let Your victory shape the way I face each day, and open my eyes to see the grace You are showing me right now. Amen.

Meditation

What would it look like today for me to live with the confidence that I am already raised and seated with Christ, far above every power that once held me?
