But in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world. He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.

– Hebrews 1:2-3

Although Christ is the Creator of the world and the Sustainer of the universe, He is not a distant God, high and mighty, unconcerned with His lowly creatures. The One who made the world and holds it together chose to become human. He humbled Himself to live among us, to bear our sin, and to make purification for our sins through His death on the cross. The Creator, who needed nothing, entered His creation—not as an aloof observer but as the Redeemer, intimately involved in the restoration of the very world He created.

The Creator of the universe did not remain aloof from the suffering of His creation. This is the beauty of the gospel: the One who made the world became part of it to personally redeem us from our sins. When we look at the wonder of creation, we are reminded that the One who designed it all also willingly took on flesh to purify us from our sins.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, thank You for not remaining distant from the world You created. Thank You for humbling Yourself to take on human form, to live among us, and to die for our sins. Help me to see Your glory not only in creation but also in Your redemptive work on the cross. May I live in awe of both Your power as Creator and Your love as Saviour. Amen.

Meditation

How does the reality that the Creator of the universe became human to save us shape the way you view your relationship with God and the world around you?
