According to the grace of God given to me, like a skilled master builder I laid a foundation, and someone else is building upon it. Let each one take care how he builds upon it. For no one can lay a foundation other than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
– 1 Corinthians 3:10-11
This truth should humble and sober every builder in God’s house. Pastors, teachers, small group leaders, and every believer who contributes to the life of the church must constantly evaluate their work: Are we building in alignment with the foundation of Christ? Are we advancing the gospel, exercising Christlikeness, and magnifying His name? If the foundation is Christ, then all our efforts must revolve around knowing Him and making Him known. The church will stand or fall not by its innovations or resources, but by its fidelity to the one foundation.
