There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. He came as a witness, to bear witness about the light, that all might believe through him. He was not the light, but came to bear witness about the light. The true light, which gives light to everyone, was coming into the world.

John describes this Light as the one “which gives light to everyone.” The coming of Christ means that revelation is no longer hidden or restricted. God makes himself known in a way that is public, personal, and unavoidable. Light exposes, clarifies, and confronts. Once Christ has come, darkness can no longer claim ignorance as an excuse. God’s self-disclosure reaches its clearest expression in Christ, and every human life now stands in relation to thi Light—either welcoming it or resisting it
Prayer
Lord Jesus, true Light of the world, thank You for stepping into our history and into my life. Where I prefer distance, comfort, or shadows, draw me again into Your revealing presence. Help me to live honestly and faithfully in the light You have brought. Amen.
